What Does C24 Mean?

The C24 grade shows that the timber has been strength graded for structural use.

Compared with lower structural grades, C24 timber is selected to meet higher strength requirements.

The grade does not tell you what size timber is needed. The correct section size and length depend on what the timber is being used for and the project specification.

What Is C24 Timber Used For?

C24 timber is commonly used for:

  • Roof structures

  • Floor joists

  • Stud walls

  • Structural framing

  • Timber extensions

  • General structural carpentry

For structural work, always follow the timber dimensions and grade shown on the relevant drawings or specification.
