What Is A142 Reinforcing Mesh?
The A142 mesh supplied by TSAR uses 6mm wires.
It is commonly associated with lighter concrete reinforcement applications.
What Is A393 Reinforcing Mesh?
The A393 mesh supplied by TSAR uses heavier 10mm wires.
It provides a greater level of steel reinforcement and may be specified for heavier-duty concrete applications.
What Is the Difference?
| Detail | A142 supplied by TSAR | A393 supplied by TSAR |
|---|---|---|
| Wire diameter | 6mm | 10mm |
| Listed sheet size | 2.4m × 1.2m | 2.4m × 1.2m |
| Selection | Use where specified in the reinforcement design | Use where specified in the reinforcement design |
The matching sheet dimensions do not make these products interchangeable. Use the mesh reference specified for your project, rather than choosing by wire thickness or price alone.
Which Reinforcing Mesh Do I Need?
The required mesh depends on the concrete design and loads involved.
For structural or load-bearing work, use the mesh stated on the project drawings or reinforcement specification.
What Other Materials Might Be Required?
Concrete and groundwork projects can also require:
Cement
Ballast
Aggregates
MOT Type 1

What Should I Include in My Enquiry?
Send us the specified mesh reference, sheet dimensions, quantity and delivery postcode.
Confirm quantities against the reinforcement layout, including any specified laps and cutting requirements. Dividing the slab area by the sheet area alone may underestimate the number of sheets needed.
Include any specified spacers, supports or tying materials in your enquiry so we can check availability.
